Today, I am learning to feel;
Feels are confusing to me,
except on paper.
Love, hate, inadequacy… but I’m still learning.

Today, I am learning to care;
Caring has only ever caused me hurt,
except on paper.
Sympathy, empathy, emptiness… but I’m still learning.

Today, I am learning to love myself;
Its hard to do when no one else does,
except on paper.
Image, esteem, confidence… but I’m still learning.

Today, I still am learning;
It’s a hard process,
even on paper.
Still, I am who I am… and I’m still learning.
